Exciting times. GH was pretty rough and ready in those early days and we had to be able to turn our hands to whatever came along helping out in whatever situation came up on all kinds of aircraft and airlines as well as DA. We were always short staffed compared to the bigger companies like BCAL and Airtours and achieved pretty impressive turn around times for airlines despite this. It was challenging but great fun a lot of the time and I’ll never forget the guys I worked with on John and Marilyn Stokes’s team or many of the great aircrew and others that I encountered.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW: Kind of similar but with Brisbane’s bus system. Operations control on the radio and on road problem solving to keep the system running. Just as challenging but much better paying!
