I am a former steward with SABENA and used to take pictures on my flights with the company. I also built a collection of cockpits as from 1979 so I had the opportunity to take the cockpit and pax cabin of the Comet 4C G-BDIX. I would be pleased to offer you copies of them. My best regards. THE TONY BUTTON COLLECTION
Way back in 1971 I was supposed to be selling accident insurance to the good folks of Lasham, a task I did not enjoy very much! What I did enjoy, was getting into Dan Air's maintainance facility - with a camera AND permission... Much more fun than selling insurance. Present that day were G-APDD and G-ATPJ. I was pretty much given free licence to go wherever and talk to all and sundry, so a very enjoyable time was had. Now, as I digitize the remaining negs of a lifetimes collection, I realise there may be an interest in these images. Your website seems to confirm things...! Although a bit tatty and not yet restored, these negs are quite informative given that I cannot think that the workings of Lasham were often photographed. Anyway, please feel free to add to the knowledge base of your interesting website.
Regards,
Tony Button.
