BIL DAVIES - DAN AIR REMEMBERED

Hi I just found your website having stumbled across it looking for details of Comet aircraft.  My father Capt Bill Davies flew Comet 4s with Dan Air primarily from Gatwick from around 1967-1980 and retired just around the time Comets were phased out and 727s were taking over.  He started out as a first Officer having left British Eagle as a Brittania pilot when they went bust.  He went on to fly many thousands of hours in the aircraft which he loved more than any other type.  On a few occasions as a very small boy I was lucky enough to go along with him in the cockpit sitting in the empty Nav seat, how times have changed. He died aged 80 in May 2007
